The 5100-series Chromoly wrist pins are standard to most CP shelf piston sets. 5100-series wrist pins are made from case-hardened carbon steel bar stock and suitable for stock replacement to medium horsepower and rpm applications. When horsepower and rpm is increased further or a lighter rotating assembly is desired, the solution is to upgrade to 9310 steel wrist pins. CP 9310 steel wrist pins are made from case-hardened, cryogenically-treated (sub-zero heat-treatment process) for improved material strength and grain structure. Each 9310 wrist pin is 100% Rockwell tested to verify quality and strength. For extreme performance, CP also offers Diamond-Like Coating (DLC) coated 9310 steel wrist pins.
